Auto-Flex®
Configurable Assembly Line
The Auto-Flex® Configurable Assembly Line
is a new product by Rowe Conveyor LLC.
This system can reduce your assembly labor costs for pallet sized Packaging Kits by more than 50%. This system eliminates the heavy lifting associated with manipulating pallets and completed Kits. As few as one operator can run the system. More likely you will use three operators to assemble 300 to 600 kits per shift depending on kit complexity.
This system includes our Auto-Flex® Pallet Stacker/Un-stacker and a pallet unstacking zone. It also includes an overhead Tool Rail, 7 assembly stations, one strapping zone and a Continuous Pusher. The system is a total of 68’ long. The entire system is manufactured in-house at Rowe Conveyor LLC except for the optional side seal strapping machine.
The system includes an automatic strapping zone and a Continuous Pusher with high traction rollers that insure accurate strap positioning. The side seal strapping system is not included in the base price. We can guide you to a strapping machine that will work well with the system. Alternatively you can manually strap with our hand feed strap chute.
Completed Kits are pushed across the floor until picked up by a fork truck. Higher system throughput is achieved by allowing the Kits to be assembled asycronys to the fork truck operaton. This system is positioned to push finished product down an aisle that can be temporarily blocked. Pallets push against pallets so that no damage to the product occurs.
The continuous pusher is equipped with a torque limiting device to limit the force it can exert on a set of finished Kits. It stops pushing if it encounters excess resistance, such as a fork truck.
A typical Kit can be made up of a Pallet, Sleeve, Pads, Corner Boards, Partitions, Lid and a strap. This system is very flexible. Simply complete a “Set-UP” sheet for each of your production runs that defines what is to be done in each Assembly Zone and how the system is to be manned. Attached it to your production work order. At the beginning of an order position your raw material according the the “Set-Up” sheet and select the stations to use.
To operate the system, simply select which assembly stations to use for the current product. Then select the strap pattern for the current product. The pallet will stop at all selected assembly stations and an overhead light will illuminate for that station. The operator will release the pallet from the assembly station when the task is done for that station.
The Overhead Structure a free standing integral part of the system. It holds the overhead controls as well as the overhead pneumatic and electrical distribution system. By hanging customer supplied tools from the overhead system, the floor is kept free of trip hazards such as electrical cords and hoses. Operators can work on both sides of the line.
Your ROI will be realized in Months, not Years.
